ahhhhhh. summer time and the livin' is easy. so far this summer has been dope, i have accomplished a lot of the
things i set out to do at the beginning of the summer. for that i think i will take this moment to give myself a pat on the back. despite being jobless, i've managed to hold onto some of my money, and do a few productive things here and there. when i'm not on my computer, or watching late night television (satc, conan o'brien, and yes i will admit it, from time to time south park), or hangin with the hommes, i have also been doing a lot of thinking. in about a month i will be headed back for the valley. this and of itself, i am totally stoked for (even going back to work). however, i still have no idea what i am doing out there. for example, i'm beginning to take classes required for the business program, but why? i doubt i will become a big business exec. i enjoy most of my classes, and would really like to become fluent in french, but when it comes down to it i feel a bit out of place in the valley. i like being educated but i don't think that i will do anything with the information i learn there besides discuss it with the rents and the girlies. i kind of feel like switching my major to history and go to a beauty school on the side. that way i can be a history buff and a beautician. last semester in the valley i took the most ridiculous class called lib 100. it was basically a class about liberal education. the main thrust of a liberal education according to the class (but i don't really think according to the prof, i never really did get what he was all about) was that its important for universities to educate you not only in the field you wish to pursue a career in but in other fields as well so that you come out of your college experience as a well rounded individual who is able to think for themselves. this is all fine and dandy but it is my money that i am spending on this 'liberal education' (which becomes especially more evident when tuition gets spiked by thirteen percent). i appreciate my liberal education but i am aware that i am paying for it, and i still don't even know what i really want to do with my life. i think for a lot of people they want to plow through college to get a career to pay for their college loans, which seems practical to me. in a perfect world, money would not be an issue, and i could pursue both history and fashion at once. all i have to say about this is, like a say about everything else "damn the man". micheal debakey says, " one of the rarest things that we do is think. i don't know why people don't do it more often. it doesn't cost anything. think about that". to that i have to say, true true, but thinking hasn't gotten me very far, it has just got me more confused.
but! not to put a damper on the many positive things that has come out of this summer. here are some things i have done slash accomplished......

i got all my silk screening supplies and made an obama tee. if you would like one just let me know.

beached it a few times with a few of my fav peeps (
lies, phil, and
katie).

cut up my clothes for summer lovin' and some fashion redux. (bad pictures i know).

went campin' with some pretty ladies. (
katie,
laura, and ali)

finally got new tires for my bike, thanks to the pops.

saw the dark knight. it was so good, heath ledger did a stellar job (and i'm not just saying that because the role made him go a bit crazy, and he ended up killing himself, i thought it would be weird to see him in it but you forget immediately who he is) as did maggie and the rest of the cast. however, there are still many questions i would like answered!

i was introduced to vampire weekend, a really good BAND.
katie: have you heard of vampire weekend.
me: no, but it sounds like a good time. let's do it.
katie: it's a band.
me: oh.
my fav song, m97. check it out.
i'm prolly forgetting some dope ass things that i have done this summer, and i am sure there are a few more to come, so i'll just leave that for another blog post.
p.s. do you like my new banner, layout, etc.?
